The galgos and podencos are the victims of the hunters and the hunt in Spain. These dogs endure inhumane suffering by the Spanish hunters. Of course not all hunters treat their dogs badly but unfortunately abuse and neglect are still widespread.
Therefore, Project Shelter Me will participate in the manifestation in Malaga on February 6. We will be the voice of the hunting dogs in Spain and we can only hope that Spanish politics will take a stand against this abuse.
Today 24-1-2022 at 14.20 hours we will be on Dutch radio again. Radio Rijnmond gives us the chance to explaine why demonstrating against the suffering of the Spanish hunting dogs is still necessary. Press the button below to listen in.
On Saturday the 6th of november there will be a two hour radio special on RTV Albrandswaard. There will be many guests speaking on behalf of the dogs in Spain. You can listen to volunteers from the Spanish shelters, the chair of Dutch Galgo Lobby, the veterinarian who is also chair of the NDG (one of the leading dutch animal registration centers), the chair of GRH (a Dutch organisation that brings dogs to the Netherlands), lots of music by Maria Daines and of course we will be calling in from Spain.
We hope you will be listening on saturday 6 november from 10.00 AM untill 12.00 AM on RTV Albrandswaard. You can click on the button below to enter the site. Then click on Livestream.
On October 31 we, Anneke and Cathalina, leave for Spain to make current images of the situation of the dogs there.
We will visit shelters, go into the mountains and try to collect as many images as possible with the help of the volunteers of the shelters.
Once at home, we will process the images into a number of mini-documentaries, in order to bring the dogs to the attention and keep them in the spotlight.
On the 10th of October we had our first radio interview in the studio of RTV Albrandswaard. There’s a first time for everything and for the good cause we will try everything.
We hope to bring the Galgos and Podencos as many publicity as possible. You can listen to the entire interview by clicking on the link.
